1965 Lotus Elan S2 Roadster
An original and correct example in good order

The Elan remains a design and driving benchmark. This 1965 S2 Roadster in Carmen red has had one owner for most of its life and retains a number of original features. It’s still on its original engine block and the knock-on skinny wheels and wing-top mirrors are nice period options. There is a detachable soft top with cant rails and cross-sticks plus a zip-up tonneau. We have re-trimmed the interior with a replacement dash and the rarely-seen correct-type rubber matting while retaining the equally rare and original wood-rimmed steering wheel.

The history file contains the car’s original registration documents, the owner’s manual and service book as well as evidence of its regular and enthusiastic maintenance, including an engine rebuild and a numbered Lotus replacement chassis some years ago. More recently, the suspension and brakes have been gone through and new rotoflex bushes and tyres fitted. The radiator has been re-cored. There are some age-related paint blemishes here and there, but the car presents well and is ready for some breezy open-top driving as and when the weather permits. An original and correct example in good order.
